What is ARMHS?

Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS) is a Minnesota Medical Assistance benefit that provides mental health rehabilitation services to adults with serious mental illness.

Our certified practitioners work with you one-on-one, in your home or community, to help you develop the skills and strategies needed to live independently and achieve your personal goals.

Who Qualifies for ARMHS?

ARMHS is available to Minnesota adults (18+) who have Medical Assistance and a qualifying mental health diagnosis. Our team can help determine your eligibility.

What conditions qualify for ARMHS? +

ARMHS serves adults with serious mental illnesses including major depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, severe anxiety disorders, and other qualifying conditions. A diagnostic assessment from a licensed professional is required.

How much does ARMHS cost? +

ARMHS is covered by Minnesota Medical Assistance (MA) at no cost to eligible clients. There are no copays or out-of-pocket expenses. We handle all insurance billing directly.

Where do services take place? +

ARMHS is community-based, meaning we come to you. Services can take place in your home, at a coffee shop, library, workplace, or anywhere in your community that works for you.

How often will I meet with my practitioner? +

Service frequency is based on your individual needs and treatment plan. Most clients meet with their practitioner 1-4 times per week, with sessions typically lasting 1-2 hours.

Is ARMHS the same as therapy? +

No, ARMHS is different from therapy. While therapy focuses on processing emotions and past experiences, ARMHS focuses on building practical skills for daily living. Many people benefit from both services together.

How long can I receive ARMHS? +

There's no set time limit for ARMHS. Services continue as long as you're eligible, making progress on your goals, and have ongoing need. Your treatment plan is reviewed regularly and adjusted as you grow.
